How to Cook Perfect Turkish Pilaf . Turkish Rice Pilaf Recipes
Today our recipe
is Turkish Rice known as “Turkish Pilav”. It is one of the irreplaceable recipe
which on our tables.
It is served with
all kind of dishes or salads and sometimes together with Yogurt. Hereby, I am
going to show you the tricks of how to cook perfect Turkish Rice ( pilav)
easily.
The most
important thing of cooking pilav is type of rice. In Turkey we called it “Baldo
Rice”. If You do not avalible to buy this kind of rice please try the recipe
without adding so much water and prefer to replenish it according to the
cooking time of rice slowly.
The second tip is
leaving rice into the cold water with some salt and waiting 30-45 minute.
The third is
roasting rice into the mixed olive oil & ghee (or butter) about 5 minutes.
And the last one
is after the roasting step add hot water and not turn heat to low for 3
minutes. This allows keeping starch in the rice and also not blending to the
water unless it causes the pilav to be mashed.

Ingredients
2 Cup Rice
2 tbspn Olive Oil
3 Tbspn Ghee or
Butter
2 Tspn Salt
3,5 Cup Hot water
Directions
Wash the rice 2
times.
Leave into the
cold water with adding some salt for 30-45 minute.
Wash the rice
again and drain whole water
Take a pan and
turn heat on
Add olive oil and
ghee in to the pan and mix rice gently
Add hot water and
wait 3 minute on heavy heat
Now turn heat low
and close the lid. Cook for 20 minute more.
After 20 minute
open the pan and turn upside down and cook 5 minute more.
Finally put a
clean and uncented fabric to top and close the lid.
Wait for steep.
