Turkish White Bean Stew Recipe ( Kuru Fasülye)

White beans are used in different recipes in Turkish Cuisine.You can find Salads, stews or deserts  in Turkey made with  this amazing legume.
On this recipe I am going to show you how to cook Traditional Turkish White Bean Stew  with the explaining steps.

White Bean Stew is a famous dinner foundable on the tables of almost all families in Turkish Kitchen and the traditional recipe is being transfered by all generations for years . There are some restaurants in Turkey  which based on to serve only dry bean steaw and Turkish style rice (pilav).
You absouletly shoud taste this amazing square meal  Turkish White bean once in your whole life.

Ingredients

500 g Dry White Bean
Meat (Optional)
1 White Onion Chopped
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
2 Tbsp Ghee or Butter
5 Tbsp Fresh Tomato puree
Water
2 tbsp Tomato Paste
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp red pepper powdered

Directions

In a large pan, leave the beans with water and milk about 3-4 hour. ( Milk is the trick flavour)
Wash the beans and put on low to medium heat and add some salt.
Boil 20 minute and remove the foam
Chope the onions
Put the pressure cooker on medium heat
Add 2 tbsp olive oil and 2 tbsp ghee (or butter)
Cook the onion 2 minute
Add meat and cook together with onion
Add salt, black and red pepper
Add fresh tomato puree and cook  1 minute
Add tomato paste and cook 5 minute
Add boiled beans and mix gently
Add hot water and leave low heat for 30 minute
Serve with Turkish rice (pilav) and Turkish tsatsiki (cacık)
Attention: On this recipe Pressure Cooker is used. If you dont have please change the times as below,
Waiting in the water & milk 6 hour.
Cooking in the pot 45 mn-1 hour.
